Kate Walters
Kate studied fine art at Brighton University. She was the recipient of two major awards (2004 & 2007) from the Arts Council England South West for the development of her work. She was also awarded travel bursaries to the Venice Biennale, and research trips to London and Berlin.
Recent residencies on the Isle of Iona gave Kate the opportunity to create a large body of work about her response to the purity and beauty she experienced there. Kate’s first book was The Iona Notebooks published by Guillemot Press in May 2017.
At SAW, Kate runs immersive courses and workshops on shamanic techniques with painting, with the bulk of the work carried out in our yurt.
